About

Hi. My name is Jen.

I am here to document my quest for an authentic, sober existence. I have been to the edge, and I didn’t like it there much. My sobriety date is August 15, 2013.

Nice to meet you.

  1. Welcome Jen – to a new sober life and to the sober blogging community. There is a plethora of supportive folks out here, and there, and the joys of sobriety far outnumber the tough times that may come. It’s a wonderful journey. Blessing to you on your new path πŸ™‚

    • Thank you so, so much Paul. It is kinda overwhelming at times, but I am absolutely looking forward to the change. Drinking is boring! Peace. ~Jen

  2. Welcome Jen! You’re in the right place! Like Paul said, the online sober blogging community is a great resource. You’ve taken the first step in admitting you have a problem. Now, I just encourage you to have an open mind and a willingness to change. Sobriety is a gift!

    • Thank you so much! I am working hard to keep an open mind each and every day. I like the idea that sobriety is a gift- that is a great way of thinking about it. Thanks for reading and commenting! πŸ™‚

  3. I really appreciate your candor in this post. I’m approaching 100 days sober for the first time and I think it’s good to admit that sometimes you think about and even plan to have a beer…and that you will still be supported if you do. But it was almost like you caught yourself thinking, “im allowed a slip” then decided, nah, don’t wanna do that. For me some days I go back and forth a few hours before moving on. I’ll say, let’s try to eat or go relax first and if that doesn’t work then I can have a beer. Then usually I don’t need it

  4. hi jen πŸ™‚

  6. Jenn I hope you are okay. I have enjoyed reading your blog and it has helped give me insight into drinking. I have a loved one who is an alcoholic.
